Nic Nemeth, formerly known as Dolph Ziggler in WWE, has claimed the title of IWGP Global Champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Nemeth made his debut in NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 18, accompanied by his brother Ryan Nemeth. Upon arrival, Nic engaged in a heated confrontation with David Finlay. Later, as a member of the Bullet Club, he competed in a Triple Threat Match against Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay.
Following Wrestle Kingdom, backstage tensions between Nemeth and Finlay escalated after Finlay secured the inaugural IWGP Global Championship. NJPW subsequently confirmed a singles match between the two rivals.
At NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo, Nemeth emerged victorious over Finlay in the main event, clinching the title of the new and second-ever IWGP Global Champion.
Addressing the crowd post-match, the newly crowned champion expressed his gratitude and also expressed a desire to team up with Hiroshi Tanahashi.

In the lead-up to his showdown with David Finlay, Nemeth shared insights into the guidance he received from NJPW legend Shinsuke Nakamura.
Reflecting on their interactions in an interview with njpw1972, Nemeth recounted how he initially didn’t know Nakamura well but came to admire his prowess in the ring. He described Nakamura as both an “ass kicker” and a “sweetheart,” highlighting their growing relationship. Nemeth revealed Nakamura’s offer to assist him if he ever decided to explore opportunities outside WWE, which ultimately led him to venture into Japanese wrestling.
Moving forward, Nemeth has pledged to defend the IWGP Global Championship against any challenger who steps up. Fans have shared their excitement over Nemeth’s victory and eagerly anticipate his future matches as the IWGP Global Champion.
