It appears that a teaser for Dragon’s Dogma 2 might be in the works.
A recent update on Steam, as noticed by vigilant members of the Dragon’s Dogma subreddit, has unveiled a curious addition to the Steam listing for Dragon’s Dogma 2. This addition comes in the form of an enigmatic “unknown app.”
Adding to the intrigue, this app has been tagged as “free on demand,” a label often associated with Steam demos.
Given Capcom’s track record, it’s plausible that they are gearing up to release a demo for the eagerly awaited RPG. After all, the original Dragon’s Dogma also had a demo release in the past. If a demo is also planned for consoles, it will allow players to sample the game across different platforms and choose their preferred gaming experience.
While Capcom has yet to officially confirm the availability of a demo for Dragon’s Dogma 2, the timing of this Steam update is noteworthy. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is slated for release on March 22, 2024.
In case you missed it, Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Dragon’s Dogma 2, recently shared his thoughts on fast travel mechanics in video games. He debunked the notion that travel in games is inherently boring, asserting that it only becomes an issue when the game itself lacks engagement.
Itsuno emphasized the importance of making travel enjoyable by strategically placing discoveries along the journey, introducing varied enemy encounters, and creating suspenseful moments that keep players on their toes.
