Arrowhead Game Studios, the developer behind Helldivers 2, has confirmed that the “rapid patch” deployed to Steam yesterday has now made its way to the PS5 platform as well.
This update comes in response to player feedback highlighting issues with matchmaking and recurring crashes. Concerns have been raised regarding the game’s PC optimization and the inclusion of kernel-level GameGuard anti-cheat software, with some players expressing dissatisfaction with Helldivers 2’s monetization model.
Game director Mikael Eriksson acknowledged these issues earlier today on the game’s Discord channel. While assuring players that a comprehensive matchmaking solution is in progress, Eriksson noted that it may require a few more days of testing before implementation.
Eriksson stated, “The new build we submitted earlier for PC is now on PS5 as well. The most important thing to highlight is that we’ve made additional improvements to matchmaking. A full matchmaking solution is in the works, but will take a few more days to test and deploy. Thanks for your patience as we work through the last details.”
Arrowhead Game Studios released a “rapid patch” on Steam yesterday, February 9th, aimed at addressing the matchmaking issues. This PC update, currently available, aims to mitigate matchmaking problems and prevent game crashes in various scenarios.
