A recent report indicates that Wayfinder Studio Airship Syndicate has laid off 12 individuals. Additionally, president Ryan Stefanelli and CEO Joe Madureira are said to be undergoing pay cuts as part of the restructuring process, as disclosed by Polygon’s senior reporter, Nicole Carpenter.
The decision to implement these changes, according to a spokesperson, aims to secure the continued operation of Airship Syndicate and ensure the delivery of outstanding experiences.
Last November, Digital Extremes, the Wayfinder publisher, revealed the termination of its association with the title, leading to layoffs. Consequently, Airship Syndicate assumed full control over the publishing of Wayfinder.
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, Airship Syndicate released Wayfinder in Early Access in August of the previous year, receiving a mix of reviews.
