Elden Ring Patch 1.13 has been released across all platforms following server maintenance conducted earlier today. This maintenance was necessary to deploy the new patch, marking the second update since the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree late last month. The servers were taken down for maintenance starting at 00:00 PDT, 9:00 CEST, and 16:00 JST, with an estimated downtime of about three hours.
FromSoftware announced the maintenance through social media, thanking players for their patience. The timing of the server downtime was aligned to minimize disruption, and players were informed in advance about the duration and purpose of the maintenance. This patch brings various updates and fixes to the game, reflecting ongoing developer efforts to enhance gameplay.
The patch notes for Elden Ring 1.13 are notably extensive due to numerous bug fixes. Among the most significant changes are adjustments to player-versus-player (PvP) balance. These adjustments primarily involve increasing Pose damage for several weapons, though it’s worth noting that a recent PvP exploit remains unaddressed in this update.
Additionally, Spirit Summons have seen improvements in this patch. Many of these summonable units will now “no longer stagger as easily,” making them more resilient during battles. Some Spirit Summons also benefit from increased HP and attack power, enhancing their effectiveness as allies in combat.
Notably, the patch does not include changes to boss encounters, so players will need to rely on their own skills to overcome challenging bosses. However, a significant adjustment has been made to the Sorcery from Shadow of the Erdtree.
The Impenetrable Thorns Sorcery, previously exploited to defeat bosses with relative ease, has been nerfed. The patch reduces its attack power, poise damage, Hemorrhage buildup, and stamina damage, making it less effective in exploiting boss weaknesses.
