After undergoing almost two weeks of beta testing on Steam, the latest patch for Starfield is now accessible to all players on PC and Xbox Series X/S. This update, officially designated as version 1.9.51.0, brings a host of improvements, including quest fixes and visual enhancements.
Bethesda’s announcement highlights that the transition from beta to full release includes an additional PC crash fix. This tweak is among the “over a hundred fixes and adjustments” previously outlined in the beta patch notes.
The primary focus of update 1.9.51.0 is on enhancing the overall gaming experience and addressing quest-related issues. Bethesda boasts the resolution of problems such as objects reappearing after being removed, and ship hatches incorrectly marked as inaccessible, and more. Furthermore, efforts have been made to eliminate the persistent problem of asteroids closely tailing ships across the galaxy.
While the update primarily revolves around quality-of-life improvements, it also introduces a couple of visually appealing enhancements. Bethesda’s patch notes highlight improved textures, lighting, and shadows. Additionally, the update includes expanded widescreen support and stability improvements.
Bethesda reiterates its commitment to providing regular updates, with a goal of releasing them approximately every six weeks throughout 2024. As teased earlier, these updates will introduce “new ways of traveling” and official mod support through Bethesda’s Creation Club.
