Krafton is currently facing a legal challenge as a former female employee has filed a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination. According to information from Polygon, the ex-employee asserts that the PUBG publisher terminated her employment shortly after she reported being sexually assaulted by a former executive within the company.
The lawsuit, which has been submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, outlines that the employee was associated with Krafton from 2021 to 2023. The incident in question occurred during a work-related event following the Game Awards.
Despite bringing the assault to the attention of Krafton’s leadership, the lawsuit alleges that the matter was disregarded and not subject to an investigation. Shockingly, the employee was terminated just two months after reporting the assault, as per the legal filing.
The executive implicated in the lawsuit, as per their LinkedIn profile, served at Krafton for almost three years and departed from the company in September 2023.
Responding to the report by Polygon, a spokesperson for Krafton stated, “We take all allegations of improper workplace conduct with the utmost seriousness. As this is an ongoing legal matter, we are unable to comment on the specifics of the case.”
