Samoa Joe, the former AEW World Champion, has been absent from the ring since losing his title to Swerve Strickland at the Dynasty pay-per-view event.
However, it seems that Joe is still making waves outside of the wrestling world. The Samoan Submission Machine was recently spotted with two former female WWE Superstars, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, at the Chicago Comic Expo.
The photo, posted by Kay on Instagram, shows Joe posing with the duo, who were formerly known as The IIconics in WWE. The successful tag team won the Women’s Tag Team Championship in 2019 during their stint on the main roster.
After being released from their contracts in April 2021, they had a short stint in Impact Wrestling.
While Joe’s absence from AEW has left fans wondering about his return, this recent sighting has sparked speculation about his future plans. Will he make a comeback to the ring soon? And what kind of storyline will he be involved in upon his return?
Meanwhile, Brian Cage, who was easily defeated by Joe when he was the Ring of Honor TV Champion, has expressed his desire for a rematch with the Samoan superstar.
In an exclusive interview with Bill Apter, Cage stated that he wants another go at Joe because he felt like he got “trolled” about 90 percent of their previous matchup.
A potential rematch between Cage and Joe would undoubtedly generate a lot of interest from fans. The question remains whether Joe will accept the challenge and when he will make his return to AEW.
One thing is certain – whenever Samoa Joe steps back into the ring, it will be a highly anticipated event.
As fans continue to speculate about Joe’s future plans, one thing is clear – his presence outside of the ring is still making headlines. Whether he will return to AEW or explore other opportunities remains to be seen.
But for now, his meeting with Billie Kay and Peyton Royce has given fans something to talk about amidst his hiatus from in-ring action.
