The wrestling world was shocked when Cameron Grimes, the former NXT North American Champion, received his release from WWE on April 23.
After five years with the company, Grimes struggled to receive television time on SmackDown, despite his successful run in NXT. However, according to EC3, Grimes’ former co-worker in TNA, the 30-year-old’s future in the wrestling business looks bright.
EC3, the current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, recently appeared on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s The Wrestling Outlaws with Dr. Chris Featherstone and Vince Russo.
During the episode, he shared his thoughts on Grimes’ potential in the industry. EC3 believes that Grimes will succeed as a wrestling trainer when he slows down his in-ring career.
“He would be a very good coach and he will be one day,”
EC3 stated.
“He’ll probably be a coach too. He’s got a great mind.”
Grimes’ creativity and impressive in-ring psychology have earned him a reputation as one of WWE’s most talented young stars. EC3 thinks these attributes will serve him well if he decides to pursue non-wrestling opportunities in the business.
“He’d be a great producer, so I think the job for life [comment], that would be something he would possibly believe,” EC3 said. “I can see him believing that, and I think he will in the future be very good at all those things.”
EC3’s prediction is not unfounded. During his time in NXT, Grimes showed a keen understanding of the business, often conceiving innovative finishes and showcasing his ahead-of-his-time thinking. It’s no surprise that an executive recently told him he would always have a job with the company.
Grimes’ WWE exit may have come as a shock to many, but it’s clear that he has a bright future ahead of him. Whether he chooses to continue wrestling or transition into a backstage role, EC3 is confident that Grimes will thrive.
As one of the most creative and talented young stars in the industry, Grimes has already made a name for himself, and it’s exciting to think about what the future holds for him.
While Cameron Grimes’ WWE career may have come to an end, his impact on the wrestling world is far from over. With his talent, creativity, and dedication to the sport, it’s likely that we’ll see him making waves in
