The WWE Draft 2024 begins tonight on SmackDown, with champions safeguarded from switching brands. However, notable names like Nikki Cross and Tamina aren’t in the pool. Surprisingly, Brock Lesnar, despite being with WWE, is also absent, possibly due to his free agent status.
According to Fightful Select, Lesnar’s omission might be linked to his free agency, leaving his return uncertain. While Triple H affirmed Lesnar’s WWE affiliation, concrete plans for his comeback remain elusive.
Interestingly, WWE’s Draft rules appear flexible. Despite Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman’s injuries, both are draft-eligible. Rollins, recuperating from knee surgery, and Strowman, sidelined for nearly a year, can still switch brands. Meanwhile, other injured stars like Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley are excluded from the Draft process.
The reasoning behind Rollins’ inclusion while others are omitted remains unclear. Nevertheless, WWE’s Draft promises intriguing brand switches, even with its selective participant choices.
