WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has had a remarkable career, and despite facing criticism, there have been discussions about the possibility of him either signing with AEW or making special appearances for them.
However, in an interview with “93.7 The Ticket,” Goldberg emphatically dismissed any notions of appearing in the promotion.
“The product is too cheesy. It doesn’t deserve to have — I mean, whatever … Now you’re gonna really get me going!” Goldberg exclaimed.
“But if there was a comparable viable option as a competitor [to WWE] that would allow me to still look myself in the mirror after I was a member of their roster? Yeah, then it would be a consideration, but not a chance.”
Goldberg’s statements indicate that he is unlikely to appear in AEW in the foreseeable future, if ever.
Additionally, his comments earlier in the interview suggest that he has moved on from the idea of having a final match in WWE, indicating that a return to the Triple H-led promotion is also unlikely.
So, what does the future hold for Goldberg’s wrestling career? Interestingly, in a previous interview, he spoke highly of the Japanese wrestling scene, describing his brief stint in Japan as “the best time” in his wrestling career.
This has sparked speculation that Goldberg could have his final match in a Japanese promotion. However, only time will tell what Goldberg’s ultimate decision will be.
