WWE legend Bully Ray recently shared his assessment of AEW’s Dynasty pay-per-view, highlighting Jack Perry’s return to the promotion as the standout moment of the night.
Speaking on “Busted Open Radio,” Ray discussed four key stories emerging from Dynasty, with Perry’s return being the most significant.
“I think the biggest story [coming out of Dynasty] is Jack Perry. Let’s see if they get this right. Hopefully, they do,” Ray remarked.
Ray concurred with host Dave LaGreca’s analysis of three additional stories AEW could focus on post-Dynasty, including the Chris Jericho-Hook feud, the women’s division rivalry involving Thunder Rosa, Deonna Purrazzo, Toni Storm, and Mariah May, and Swerve Strickland’s title win.
The Hall of Famer noted that while AEW excels at storytelling, these narratives often conclude too swiftly.
Reflecting on Perry’s return, Ray emphasized the time it takes for both wrestlers and behind-the-scenes personnel, such as Tony Khan, to grasp the nuances of the wrestling business.
He suggested Khan should view the airing of Perry’s return positively, given its favorable crowd reaction.
“When Jack Perry came back at Dynasty, look at the reaction he’s got and look at the trickledown effect from it,” Ray emphasized.
Perry’s surprise appearance at Dynasty followed teases from The Young Bucks regarding his involvement in their storyline with FTR.
His intervention during the ladder match between The Young Bucks and FTR helped Matt and Nick Jackson secure their third AEW Tag Team Championship reign.
