Following her victory in the Battle Royal on Monday Night RAW, Becky Lynch shared her thoughts on her championship win and her family’s reaction.
In a digital exclusive interview with WWE, Lynch expressed her hopes that her daughter would be proud of her achievement.
She revealed that her husband, Seth Rollins, who is currently recovering from surgery, had watched the match with her daughter.
Lynch humorously remarked on the need for at least one champion in the household, now that she holds the title.
“Everything that I do, I want to make her [Becky Lynch’s daughter] proud, you know. I hope she’s proud! She did [stay up late to watch the match]. I got a text from my husband [Seth Rollins], who’s recovering from surgery. At all stages, we need at least one champ in the house. So I’m bringing it home, baby,” said Lynch.
Meanwhile, former WWE writer Vince Russo shared his insights on Lynch’s championship win during this week’s episode of Legion of RAW. Russo speculated that WWE may have wanted to ensure Lynch’s contract extension, given that it was nearing its end.
He suggested that awarding her the title could be a gesture of confidence from WWE, aimed at persuading her to sign a new contract.
“Maybe they [WWE] felt she [Becky Lynch] wasn’t going to sign, and they wanted her to sign. This is a way of them showing all the confidence they have in her. They’re putting the title. That’s almost what it sounds like to me. I was under the impression that her character was kinda getting a little old and tired,” Russo commented.

Russo believed that WWE’s decision to crown Lynch as champion was a strategic move to demonstrate their faith in her and potentially secure her continued presence in the company.
As Lynch embarks on her title reign in Rhea Ripley’s absence, fans eagerly anticipate how WWE will script her championship journey.
