Becky Lynch reminisced about her WWE journey, highlighting a pivotal moment with Dominik Mysterio and her triumph over Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35.
The incident with Mysterio occurred during the lead-up to WrestleMania XL, where Lynch, alongside Rhea Ripley, clashed on Monday Night RAW.
Lynch confronted Dominik Mysterio after he supported Ripley, leading to an unexpected punch from Lynch, marking a significant moment in her career.
In a discussion with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, Lynch revealed that the punch was intentional, resulting in a minor injury to her knuckle.
“Yeah, definitely. I still have a little cut on my knuckle. Yeah, a little scab there. That was one of my favorite moments. It was really good. That was great, one of my proudest moments.”
Additionally, Lynch issued a warning to Mysterio, suggesting that he may think twice before seeking revenge, given the impact of her punch.
“You think he’s [Dominik Mysterio] coming after me? Well, I think he felt that punch, and he probably won’t. I think he’s probably done with me. I would suggest if he’s smart. If he’s smart, he will probably be done with me. Otherwise, round two coming up, you know.”
Reflecting on her historic WrestleMania 35 victory over Ronda Rousey, Lynch shared insights into why she didn’t secure a submission win over the former WWE star.
Despite the opportunity, Lynch respected Rousey’s decision not to tap out, honoring her stance throughout her career.
“And anyway, he’s [TJ Wilson] like, maybe you have Ronda in an armbar, she looks like she’s about to tap out. And so Ronda comes and we tell her the creative and say and then you’re almost about to tap out. Ronda says, ‘Oh no, my mom wouldn’t look me in the eye or talk to me again if I looked like I was about to tap out.’ All right, well, she’s probably not going to tap out on the finish. So you know, she never tapped out in her career. So I understood it, respected it, and moved on quickly.”
Fans eagerly anticipate Rousey’s potential return to WWE, anticipating a rematch between her and Lynch.
