“When I heard the gong and there was The Undertaker, the one thing I verbally, I might have even said it out loud was: ‘This is 40 years of WrestleMania.’ Gosh, the sheriff showing up, the judge showing up, certainly that energy in the building.”
He also joked about a potential tag team with The Undertaker, showcasing his gratitude for everyone involved.
The Undertaker himself addressed his return on his Six Feet Under podcast, revealing that the experience brought him a sense of closure:
“Something happened this weekend, and I’ve been struggling with it since I retired. But this weekend gave me closure.”
He elaborated on the importance of the moment and how it helped him come to terms with his retirement.
Before WrestleMania XL, speculation circulated that Stone Cold Steve Austin might interfere in Rhodes’ match, but no agreement was reached.
