Matt Morgan, a seasoned figure in wrestling, foresees a future clash between former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his cousin, The Rock.
Though initially returning to WWE to hint at challenging Reigns, The Rock surprised by aligning with The Bloodline at WrestleMania XL, where they faced Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
During the match, a hint of a potential face-off emerged as Reigns inadvertently speared The Rock.
Despite Reigns taking a hiatus post his shocking title loss, Morgan, speaking on the Gigantic Pop podcast, firmly believes The Tribal Chief will return for a showdown with The Rock.
“That’s definitely gonna happen. They’re gonna work each other, obviously,”
he remarked.
The Rock’s altered WWE return plans revealed
Initially planned as a babyface return to challenge Reigns at WrestleMania XL, The Rock diverted course to allow Cody Rhodes to conclude his narrative.
Speaking at the WrestleMania Saturday press conference, The Rock elaborated on his decision, which came after a significant fan reaction post a confrontation with Reigns in Birmingham, Alabama.
“After that moment in the ring [with Cody], Roman and I had that face-off. It was just a few days after that that I was in Hawaii…I remember waking up and going, I think I have what this pivot should be,”
he recalled.
Despite The Rock’s interference in the WrestleMania Sunday main event, Cody Rhodes emerged victorious, marking the completion of his story by clinching the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
