The collaboration between All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) has been well-documented, yet it hasn’t extended to NJPW’s sister organization under Bushiroad’s umbrella, STARDOM.
The absence of a partnership between AEW and STARDOM primarily stems from the strained relationship between AEW President Tony Khan and STARDOM’s founder, Rossy Ogawa. However, following Ogawa’s departure from the company, AEW and STARDOM swiftly initiated a working agreement.
During a recent media call promoting the upcoming ROH Supercard of Honor event on April 5, Khan was questioned about AEW’s connection with STARDOM and the impact of Ogawa on the initial discussions for collaboration.
Khan responded, “I can confidently say that our relationship has vastly improved. Working with the new management at STARDOM has been an absolute pleasure. I express my gratitude to our partners at Bushiroad, as well as to STARDOM and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Undoubtedly, it marks a new chapter for the relationship between STARDOM and AEW, and the new management has proven to be exceptional collaborators.”
Khan wasted no time in leveraging this newfound partnership. Several AEW talents, including Mariah May, Willow Nightingale, and even AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm, recently participated in STARDOM’s event in Philadelphia.
Additionally, ROH will feature a special STARDOM trios match at Supercard of Honor, showcasing AZM, Saya Kamitani, and Tam Nakano against Maika, Mei Seira, and Mina Shirakawa.
