Since losing the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe at AEW Worlds End, MJF has been largely absent, reportedly recovering from injuries and contemplating his future, with rumors suggesting his contract with AEW may have expired at the end of 2024.
Months after facing defeat at the hands of Samoa Joe and Adam Cole, MJF has resurfaced to confront an unexpected adversary.
Making his first appearance on X since December, MJF responded to a tweet by none other than The Rock.
The former AEW World Champion accused The Rock of appropriating his idea of using a belt to lash Cody Rhodes, a move witnessed in a recent brutal assault on Rhodes by The Rock.
However, MJF seemed more perturbed by The Rock’s endorsement of a painting depicting the incident, particularly because the painting was created by his former fiancée, Natalie Rosenblum.
MJF’s grievance appeared to be directed not at the painting itself but at The Rock’s perceived attempt to profit from his ex-partner’s artwork.
He concluded his tweet by expressing admiration for The Rock while requesting him to cease the interaction, humorously addressing him as “Dewey.” As of now, The Rock has not responded to MJF’s tweet.
MJF’s brief return to social media indicates his gradual reemergence from his hiatus.
Despite his absence backstage at AEW events since Worlds End, reports suggest sightings of MJF in Boston shortly after “AEW Dynamite: Big Business” last month, where he allegedly met with AEW officials.
Nonetheless, it remains uncertain when fans can expect to see MJF back in the wrestling ring.
