According to reports from Pro Wrestling Insider and Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, AEW has recently released 10 talents, most of whom have been primarily associated with Ring of Honor.
The decision to release these talents is part of a broader talent evaluation process within the company, deemed to be in the best interests of both AEW and the performers involved.
This marks the first instance of AEW engaging in mass releases since its establishment in 2019.
The following performers have reportedly been released:
- Stu Grayson
- Dasha Kuret
- Anthony Henry
- Gravity
- Jose the Assistant
- Slim J
- Parker Boudreaux
- Jora Johl
- The Boys (aka the Tate Twins)
Grayson, an original member of AEW, initially signed alongside his Super Smash Bros partner Evil Uno as one of the first recruits for the Dark Order. Although Grayson’s contract expired in May 2022, he was subsequently brought back in March 2023.
Kuret also joined AEW in 2019, contributing to Spanish commentary and ring announcing. She made her in-ring debut for the company when she teamed with Rachael Ellering in the AEW Tag Team Tournament Cup in 2020.
One of the most surprising releases is Henry, who formed one-half of The Workhorsemen alongside JD Drake. Henry was poised to participate in the ongoing AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament before sustaining a jaw injury in March.
Meanwhile, Drake competed as a singles wrestler on the March 30 episode of “AEW Collision,” facing off against Kyle O’Reilly.
he Boys were also involved in an ongoing storyline on ROH programming, tied to the forthcoming Supercard of Honor match between Johnny TV and Dalton Castle.
These mass releases follow AEW’s recent signings of three prominent free agents: Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada, and Mercedes Mone.
