Former WWE Universal Champion Goldberg recently shared his thoughts on Asuka’s impressive undefeated streak lasting 914 days.
During an interview on Tim Green – Nothing Left Unsaid, Goldberg addressed the history Asuka made by breaking his own undefeated streak. His comments stirred controversy and received criticism from fans.
“Well, a girl beat my winning streak… beat my undefeated streak. Yeah, I can’t even remember. Asuka is her name; some Japanese girl. They touted her as being the one to have the longest winning streak, and it just so happened that it culminated when I got there, right? And then, it just so happened that every single wrestler uses the spear in their moves, right? Pretty ironic that happened when I got there, right? That’s how they do.”

His former WCW colleague, Sean Waltman (X-Pac), who shared the locker room with him, seemed to disagree with Goldberg’s sentiment.
Waltman posted a photo alongside Asuka and the late Scott Hall, suggesting his support for Asuka over Goldberg.
Additionally, Scott Hall, a close friend of Waltman, expressed admiration for Asuka’s talent back in 2017.
2 years ago we lost Scott Hall. Such a cool moment seeing him praise Asuka 🥹

Despite wrestling Goldberg multiple times, Hall praised Asuka’s abilities and even compared her favorably to the former Universal Champion.
“Just like Scott Hall and X-Pac, many wrestling fans also side with The Empress of Tomorrow. Even though the WWE Hall of Famer had some iconic matches throughout his career, Asuka’s work cannot be ignored.”
As the debate continues among fans and wrestling personalities, it’s evident that Asuka’s impact on the wrestling world is widely recognized and appreciated.
