The WWE landscape hasn’t seen Ronda Rousey grace its rings since her loss to Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam in August 2023. In the interim, it appears that any notions of her return are distant at best.
Recently, the former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion didn’t mince words when discussing WWE’s backstage environment, signaling her disinterest in a comeback.
Ronda Rousey: WWE Is An Absolute Shit Show Backstage, I Don't Intend On Going Back https://t.co/5rICTc0VER

During an interview on Never Before Told, aimed at promoting her forthcoming book “Our Fight,” Rousey pulled back the curtain on WWE’s inner workings, expressing her freedom to speak out amidst her absence from the organization.
“Behind the scenes? How much of an absolute sh*t show it is at the WWE because they can’t hold the story over my head and hold me hostage with my own career. I don’t need anything from them, and I don’t intend on going back, so I can say everything that I think and feel while everybody else is still held captive by their organization,”
remarked Rousey.
Rousey’s tenure with WWE has been marked by sporadic appearances. She first entered the WWE arena in January 2018, making a splashy debut at the Royal Rumble.
After a 15-month stint, she bid adieu at WrestleMania 35 in 2019, only to resurface three years later at Royal Rumble 2022. Despite another 18-month run culminating in SummerSlam 2023, her current stance suggests a departure from WWE’s orbit.
Moreover, Rousey’s forthcoming book promises to go deeper into the intricacies of WWE’s backstage dynamics, including scathing commentary on former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
With revelations surfacing about McMahon’s alleged misconduct and ongoing legal battles, Rousey’s book threatens to cast a stark light on WWE’s corporate culture and its embattled figurehead.
As Rousey explores her post-WWE trajectory, her candid revelations serve as a poignant reminder of the complexities within the wrestling industry’s inner sanctum.
