As WWE gears up for WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia, exciting developments are underway, including Gunther’s debut singles match on the grand stage.
Meanwhile, former WWE star Madcap Moss opened up about his surprising title match against Gunther on SmackDown last year.
Moss, who recently tied the knot with his partner Emma, shared insights with Chris Van Vliet of INSIGHT about his sudden push to the top and the questionable booking leading up to his match against Gunther:
“Randomly, I got this Intercontinental Championship match against Gunther… Yeah, unbelievable. I think of all his championship matches; mine might have been the least believable that I could win that championship. I hadn’t even been on TV for months… Gunther’s unbelievable, so good.”
Reflecting on the management’s uncertainty about his character, Moss revealed the confusion surrounding his storyline adjustments before the match:
“I mean, I won a Fatal-Four Way, the previous week. I pinned Rey Mysterio… It was just like very confusing, and then the next week I was like, ‘Am I like showing some signs of heel against Gunther?’ and they’re like, ‘No, he’s the heel.'”
Meanwhile, as WrestleMania XL approaches, the card is taking shape with Sami Zayn securing a one-on-one title match against Gunther after winning a Gauntlet match.
Additionally, Kevin Owens earned his spot at the Grandest Stage of Them All, set to compete for the United States Championship in a Triple-Threat Match against Logan Paul and Randy Orton.
As WWE’s biggest event of the year draws near, anticipation builds for the clash of titans and unexpected twists that WrestleMania XL promises to deliver.
