Today’s highly anticipated Xbox Podcast delivered a flurry of updates on Microsoft’s hardware plans and multiplatform game releases. Among the revelations was the confirmation that an Xbox Showcase will indeed take place in June, despite the demise of E3.
Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, wrapped up the podcast by teasing an exciting lineup for 2024: “We’ve got more than 10 major releases on the horizon. Great stuff. Hellblade 2, the Diablo expansion, Avowed, Ara, the Indiana Jones game, and more are in the works. We’re looking forward to sharing further details at our June showcase.”

Taking to Twitter, the official Xbox account further solidified the news: “With a stellar lineup including Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Towerborne, and more, 2024 promises excitement for Xbox players worldwide. Join us in June for the Xbox Showcase!”
Although historically linked to E3, the June Xbox Showcase will carry on as a standalone event following E3’s permanent closure. Despite this shift, the tradition of summer game announcements remains strong. Geoff Keighley has already announced the return of Summer Game Fest in June, ensuring gamers have multiple showcases to anticipate.
