Microsoft and Amazon are working together to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to more devices, specifically the newest Amazon Fire TV Sticks. Starting next month, players in 25 countries will be able to stream games on their Fire TV Stick 4K and Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
Microsoft announced that the Xbox app will be available on Fire TV, initially targeting two selected markets. Gamers with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership will be able to stream the cloud gaming titles available in Microsoft’s library. This initiative positions Fire TV Stick as an affordable entry point into Xbox gaming, with the 4K and 4K Max models priced at $49.99 and $59.99, respectively.
To use the Xbox app on these devices, players will need a compatible Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller. Amazon’s blog post confirms that PlayStation’s DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers are among the supported options. While full access to the library requires an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership, the app will also offer non-members the chance to play Fortnite.
This partnership reflects Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to expand the reach of Game Pass through cloud gaming, following a similar collaboration with Samsung’s Smart TVs. By integrating Xbox Cloud Gaming into more accessible devices like Fire TV Stick, Microsoft aims to broaden its gaming ecosystem and attract a wider audience.
