In a surprising turn of events, WWE manager Robert Stone has seemingly found a new client, just a month after his top star, Von Wagner, was released from the company. On the latest episode of NXT, Stone’s music hit, introducing the talented Dante Chen, who has mainly been wrestling on NXT Level Up. Chen’s impressive win over Lexis King in an open challenge has marked the beginning of a new partnership between the two.
In a post on his official social media account, Stone explained his decision to accompany Chen to the ring, praising the 28-year-old superstar for his remarkable improvement over the years. Chen’s rise to fame is nothing short of impressive, given that he has only been wrestling at NXT Live Events and on NXT Level Up.
This development comes as no surprise, given Stone’s extensive experience in managing a range of WWE Superstars, including Veer, Sanga, Riddick Moss, Chelsea Green, Aliyah, Mercedes Martinez, Von Wagner, and Maxxine Dupri. Although most of these stars are no longer with the company, Stone seems to have found a new protégé in Chen.
The potential reunion between Stone and Chelsea Green was teased earlier this month, but it never materialized. Instead, Stone has shifted his focus to Chen, even using the company’s slogan “Then. Now. Forever.” to create a new phrase, “Chen. Now. Forever.” This move solidifies Chen’s position as the newest member of the Robert Stone Brand.
In addition to his on-screen role as a manager, Stone has also taken on a backstage role as a producer on NXT. According to reports, Stone transitioned into this role after Von Wagner’s release, joining the likes of Pete Dunne and Shawn Spears, who also produce matches at the developmental level.
Stone is not alone in his transition from wrestler to producer. Many former wrestlers have made the move to the production team, both on the main roster and on NXT. Fit Finlay, Robbie Brookside, Ryan Katz, Wesley Blake, Terry Taylor, Matt Bloom, Steve Corino, Johnny Moss, AJ Winkler, and Oney Lorcan are just a few examples of producers who have made the switch.
As Chen’s career continues to take off under Stone’s guidance, fans can expect to see great things from this new partnership. With Stone’s expertise and Chen’s talent, the sky’s the limit for this dynamic duo in the world of WWE.
