WWE star Grayson Waller continues to ascend in the ranks of the promotion, with many foreseeing his eventual rise to main event status. Amidst the escalating rivalry between AEW and WWE, Waller has once again waded into the fray.
In an interview with “Going Ringside,” Waller didn’t hold back, delivering another jab at the Jacksonville-based promotion, just ahead of an upcoming WWE event in the city.
“Finally, some good wrestling in Jacksonville!”
Waller exclaimed, emphasizing the anticipation for WWE’s arrival.
Going further, he asserted that it’s been “years” since Jacksonville witnessed quality wrestling, suggesting that WWE SmackDown will deliver just that.
“You can get on Ticketmaster right now, $20 to get a ticket,”
He added, pitching the event enthusiastically.
Waller confidently stated that the current WWE roster is the strongest in the promotion’s history, with SmackDown in particular being “on fire.” He even echoed Cody’s sentiment about a “Renaissance Era,” believing it aptly characterizes the current WWE.
If there were any doubts about Waller’s intention to take a swipe at AEW, he dispelled them by further ridiculing Tony Khan’s NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“You know that team sucks. Trevor Lawrence? He’s horrendous. Pretty much any sports team in Jacksonville sucks, so maybe you wanna come and see a real champion because you ain’t going to be seeing one anytime soon!”
When asked directly if his comments were aimed at AEW, Waller feigned ignorance, adding a touch of mockery to his response.
