Former WWE manager Dutch Mantell has weighed in on the Women’s Tag Team Champions, suggesting that Asuka should incorporate Goldberg’s Spear into her arsenal.
Speaking on Tim Green’s Nothing Left Unsaid podcast, Mantell discussed his relationship with WWE and referenced Asuka’s previous record-breaking win streak.
He recalled feeling that the company attempted to tarnish his legacy when they had “some Japanese girl” end his 173-0 record.
During the latest episode of Wrestling’s Smack Talk, Mantell reflected on seeing a Spear on SmackDown and immediately thought of Goldberg.
Considering his recent comments, he believed it would make sense for Asuka to adopt the move to garner heat from both fans and the legendary wrestler.
“Hey, who used the spear tonight? Remember, there was a Spear used by somebody? I forgot now. And I was thinking automatically, ‘Boy, Goldberg’s mad.’ That’s what she (Asuka) needs to do. Boom!” [10:07 onwards]
In the midst of a heated battle on SmackDown this week, Damage CTRL faced unexpected resistance from Jade Cargill, who rushed to aid Bianca Belair and Naomi during the final segment.
The debutant swiftly dispatched the faction, raising questions about how her arrival will impact the power dynamics within the blue brand.
