World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins recently discussed the possibility of facing off against CM Punk in the future.
Initially scheduled to appear at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event in Perth, Australia, Punk’s plans were derailed by a torn tricep sustained during the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
As a result, the 45-year-old wrestler finds himself sidelined for several months, missing out on a coveted spot at WrestleMania.
In a recent interview with Wrestle Radio Australia, Rollins weighed in on Punk’s current situation, drawing parallels to comments made by Jon Moxley (formerly Dean Ambrose) about Punk’s perceived vulnerabilities.
Reflecting on Punk’s setback, Rollins indicated that the Straight Edge Superstar would now need to put in extra effort to insert himself into the World Heavyweight Championship picture.
“I don’t wanna say I told you so but me and a lot of other people told you so. What’s the line – Fragile mind, fragile body, fragile ego. I think somebody I know said something like that about him and it rings true. Look, here’s the deal and I told him this in the ring. You wanna find a way to me and the World Heavyweight Championship, you’re gonna have to work for it. The deal is he’s just gonna have to work a little harder now,” Rollins remarked.
CM Punk recently offered an emotional update to fans during the Elimination Chamber weekend, expressing his disappointment at missing out on the event due to his injury.
In an Instagram story, Punk revealed the mental toll of not being able to participate and conveyed his hope that fans would enjoy the show, expressing gratitude for their support.
As Punk embarks on his road to recovery, with an estimated return timeline of six to eight months, speculation mounts regarding his potential opponents upon his WWE comeback.
Wrestling enthusiasts eagerly await to see who will engage in the first feud with the returning star.
