Wrestling veteran Matt Morgan is adamant that Cody Rhodes should be the one to dethrone Roman Reigns and bring an end to his undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign at WrestleMania XL.
Rhodes earned his shot at the championship by winning the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match, setting the stage for a showdown with The Tribal Chief on night two of the Show of Shows.
On the Gigantic Pop podcast, Morgan expressed his fervent support for Rhodes, stating that he would be devastated if Rhodes didn’t emerge victorious:
“[Do you think Cody should win the title?] Abso-flipping-lutely. Yes, yes, yes, yes. I will be irate if he doesn’t. I’ll be heartbroken if he doesn’t,”
he emphasized.
As Reigns’ historic reign approaches its zenith, speculation looms over the potential end of an era. Reigns, who has dominated WWE for over a decade, has surpassed the 1,300-day mark as Universal Champion.
However, the stakes are high, with Reigns indicating on A&E Biography: WWE Legends that he would retire if he were to lose his championship:
“You guys better cherish these moments cause once I lose the WWE Undisputed championship, I’m calling it quits,”
Reigns declared.
Adding to the intrigue, Reigns is set to compete in a monumental tag team match alongside The Rock against Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins on night one of WrestleMania XL.
Anticipation mounts as The Final Boss and The Tribal Chief made a statement by brutalizing their WrestleMania opponents on the latest episode of RAW.
With WrestleMania XL on the horizon, the question remains: Will Cody Rhodes be the one to write the final chapter in Reigns’ storied career? Share your thoughts and join the discussion.
