The International Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame (IPWHF) has announced its 2024 Class of inductees, featuring an impressive list of wrestling legends, including Kurt Angle, Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race, and Jack Brisco, among others. The induction ceremony, set to take place on Sunday, October 13, will be hosted by Sportskeeda Wrestling’s own Bill Apter, who will also be honored with the IPWHF’s Excelsior Award.
The IPWHF, located in Albany, New York, is a 501-c(3) non-profit organization founded in 2019, with a mission to preserve the history of professional wrestling. Since its inception, the IPWHF has inducted 52 pro wrestlers, including legendary names like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Andre the Giant.
This year’s class of inductees is an impressive one, featuring wrestling legends from around the world. In addition to Angle, Rhodes, Race, and Brisco, the class includes lucha libre legend El Santo, German-American wrestling pioneer Ad Santel, and several other notable wrestlers.
The induction ceremony will take place at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, following a special wrestling convention, 80s Wrestling Con, hosted by Tommy Fierro at the MVP Arena earlier in the day. The convention will feature numerous WWE Hall of Famers and Legends, making it a must-attend event for wrestling fans.
In addition to the inductions, the IPWHF will also present several awards, including the Excelsior Award to Bill Apter, recognizing his contributions to the world of professional wrestling journalism. The Rocky Johnson Medal of Mettle will be presented to Korey Wise of the Central Park 5, a wrestling fan who has made significant contributions to the sport. Angelo Savoldi will posthumously receive the IPWHF’s Trailblazer Award, recognizing his pioneering work in professional wrestling.
The International Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame is a must-visit destination for wrestling fans, featuring a museum and exhibit space on the mezzanine level of the MVP Arena. With its impressive collection of wrestling memorabilia and interactive exhibits, the IPWHF is a fitting tribute to the rich history of professional wrestling.
