Randy Orton and Kevin Owens joined forces on WWE SmackDown but came up short against Logan Paul for the United States Championship at WrestleMania XL.
Meanwhile, current SmackDown Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller didn’t hold back, challenging the two stars and boasting about his recent victory.
Waller and Austin Theory, known as A-Town Down Under, had struggled on the main roster until WrestleMania XL, where they captured the SmackDown Tag Team Championships in a six-pack ladder match.
Discussing their win on Going Ringside, Waller praised the competition in the tag team division and welcomed any challengers, including Owens and Orton, whom he mentioned had been harassing him and Theory for months.
Despite their alliance, Owens and Orton couldn’t seize the United States title from Logan Paul, a fact Waller was quick to highlight.
“It must be embarrassing for him; you know they (Kevin Owens & Randy Orton) for months have been tormenting myself, Austin (Theory), and my close personal friend, Logan Paul. But then, the big stage, the bright lights, Logan Paul, and still the United States Champion and A-Town Down Under, new Tag Team Champions.”
With the terrain of the tag team division evolving, A-Town Down Under’s victory signified a new era for SmackDown.
As the brand’s new tag team champions, they are poised to face any challengers, potentially receiving updated championship belts on an upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown.
