Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell recently shared his thoughts on the recent WWE releases, including former star Jinder Mahal and others.
During this week’s airing of SmackDown, it was reported that Jinder Mahal, along with Xyon Quinn and Xia Lee, had been released by the company.
Despite Mahal’s prior championship match against Seth Rollins, these stars hadn’t been featured on WWE TV for some time.
On the latest episode of Smack Talk, Mantell discussed his initial reaction to the news. He admitted needing a moment to remember the released wrestlers due to their absence from TV for an extended period.
“When I first heard about it, I thought, ‘Who?’ They’ve been off TV for so long. And who are the X-people? […] I don’t even know who he is.”
Jinder Mahal took to Twitter to announce his departure from the company, stating that he had chosen to leave. He also updated his bio to reflect his status as a free agent in the next 90 days.
With the wrestling industry currently thriving, it remains to be seen which promotion these released stars will join next.
