Will Ospreay engaged in a fierce showdown with Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynasty, emerging victorious and igniting discussions within the wrestling community.
However, prior to this, Ospreay found himself thrust into the spotlight after a viral response to Triple H’s apparent slight towards him. Addressing the press conference post-AEW Dynasty, Ospreay elucidated his reasons for firing back.
“I come from a generation when like … if you throw a jab I throw one back,”
Ospreay elucidated, acknowledging that while he wasn’t directly named, the insinuation was unmistakably directed at him. Despite this, he declared his intention to refrain from discussing anyone associated with WWE moving forward, recognizing that he had stooped to their level.
Redirecting the conversation towards his match with Danielson, Ospreay emphasized the significance of his performance.
“Look what I just did in the ring with Bryan and that’s only match two from pay-per-views, do you know what I mean?
I’ve got a f*** load more to go now.” While he admitted irritation at the statement made about him, Ospreay dismissed it as an antiquated joke. “I don’t think it was anything bad. It was a joke from like 20 years ago for f***’s sake.”
Having predominantly operated within NJPW throughout his career, Ospreay expressed disdain towards the tribalistic rivalry between AEW and WWE.
“It’s not nice, it’s unnecessary. I’m over it, I can’t be bothered with it, I just want to focus on promoting AEW.”
Concluding his remarks, Ospreay affirmed that while he stood by his response, he had no intention of prolonging the exchange.
