Former WWE head writer Vince Russo speculates that Roman Reigns might opt for a hiatus from WWE if Cody Rhodes extends his rivalry with The Rock beyond WrestleMania XL.
Reigns, known as the Tribal Chief, has notably scaled back his appearances on WWE programming in recent years, operating on a limited schedule. His upcoming match at WrestleMania XL sees him defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes.
However, Rhodes is also embroiled in a heated feud with The Rock, with a tag match scheduled for Night 1 of WrestleMania, pitting Rhodes and Seth Rollins against The Rock and his cousin.
On Wrestling’s Legion of RAW, Russo speculated about Reigns’ potential hiatus, suggesting that if the Rhodes-Rock feud prolongs post-WrestleMania, it could provide Reigns with an opportunity to step away from WWE for a while.
“That does give Roman the time off. If they go to Cody and Rock, that can give Roman the time off.” [From 1:00:20 onwards]
Although Reigns and Rhodes shared a tense encounter on SmackDown, no physical altercation ensued. However, Rhodes suffered a brutal assault at the hands of The Rock on RAW, positioning The Brahma Bull as a primary antagonist in the unfolding storyline.
