Triple H speaks out after Trick Williams defeats Ilja Dragunov at NXT Spring Breakin’ Week 1.

Trick Williams emerged victorious as the new NXT Champion, seizing the title from Ilja Dragunov in an intense showdown during Week One of NXT Spring Breakin’.

The match, lasting just under 12 minutes, culminated in Williams executing his signature move, the Trick Knee, to secure the pinfall victory. As per the stipulation, had Williams lost, he would have bid farewell to NXT.

In the aftermath of this significant event, Triple H, the WWE Chief Content Officer, took to Twitter to extend his congratulations to the 29-year-old champion.

In his tweet, Triple H acknowledged Dragunov’s resilience, hailing him as one of NXT’s toughest competitors, while also heralding the beginning of the “Trick Williams era.”

“Congratulations to @_trickwilliams on a hard-fought match, and a well-deserved victory, against one of #WWENXT’s toughest in @UNBESIEGBAR_ZAR. The era of Trick Williams is looking bright. #NXTSpringBreakin #AndNew,” Triple H shared.

Despite Triple H’s acknowledgment, Trick Williams has yet to respond publicly to The Game’s commendations at the time of this writing.

This clash marked the fifth singles encounter between Trick and Ilja, with their rivalry stretching back to February 2023.

Their initial encounters resulted in a back-and-forth exchange of victories, with Williams securing a win at a non-televised live event, followed by Dragunov’s retaliation on television. The momentum swung again at NXT Heatwave 2023 in favor of Dragunov, making it 2-1 in his favor.

Their most recent bout prior to the title match occurred at Vengeance Day in February, where Dragunov successfully retained the championship. However, the scales tipped once more as Williams emerged triumphant in their latest showdown, marking the series 3-2 in his favor and solidifying his reign as the new NXT Champion.
