As the WWE Universe eagerly awaits the highly anticipated SmackDown and inaugural King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event (PLE), the company’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, is busy putting the finishing touches on what promises to be a monumental weekend of wrestling action. The unprecedented event will mark the first-ever SmackDown broadcast from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, followed by the crowning of the 23rd King of the Ring and the 2nd Queen of the Ring on Saturday.
Ahead of the historic weekend, Triple H took to social media to share a photo of himself boarding the company jet, bound for the Saudi capital of Riyadh, where the WWE Experience attraction is located. The 54-year-old wrestling veteran expressed his excitement for the big weekend ahead, which will see the WWE Universe descend upon the Jeddah Super Dome, a 40,000-seat multipurpose event space and the world’s largest non-openable/non-segmented dome.
The action-packed weekend kicks off on Friday with SmackDown, featuring the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring semifinals. Tama Tonga will face off against Randy Orton, while Bianca Belair takes on Nia Jax, with the winners advancing to the PLE to face Gunther and Lyra Valkyria. AJ Styles will also confront Nick Aldis on Friday’s show, while The Street Profits will clash with Tonga Loa and Solo Sikoa, and Women’s Champion Bayley will face Chelsea Green in a non-title match.
Saturday’s PLE promises to be an unforgettable night of wrestling action, with three title matches on the card. Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch will put her title on the line against Liv Morgan, while Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn will defend against Chad Gable and Bronson Reed. The main event of the evening will see Cody Rhodes put his WWE Championship on the line against Logan Paul in a Champion vs. Champion match, with Paul’s United States Championship not up for grabs.
As the WWE Universe counts down to this unprecedented weekend of wrestling action, one thing is certain – the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to become the epicenter of the wrestling world, and Triple H is the mastermind behind it all.
