WWE icon The Undertaker has stirred speculation, suggesting that Brock Lesnar might stage a comeback before WrestleMania 41 for a showdown with current WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, aged 38.
Rhodes, upon his WWE return in 2022, voiced aspirations of concluding his narrative by toppling Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship. Despite falling short at WrestleMania 39, The American Nightmare seized the coveted gold at this year’s pinnacle event.
In a recent segment on the Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker pondered potential adversaries for Rhodes leading up to WrestleMania 41. He hinted at the possibility of Lesnar, a former world champion, reemerging on WWE television to vie for The American Nightmare’s title:
“And you got, from what I understand, you know, Brock [Lesnar] is not completely out of the picture. So, I mean, there’s some hurdles he’s [Cody Rhodes] got ahead of him to get to [WrestleMania] 41. So it’ll be interesting to see his journey,” he remarked.
Lesnar’s previous WWE encounter was against Rhodes at the 2023 SummerSlam Premium Live Event, suggesting a potential rekindling of their rivalry.
Furthermore, The Undertaker speculated on another contender for Rhodes’ title reign: Gunther.
Following Gunther’s loss of the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania XL, The Deadman hinted at his readiness to boost and challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed Championship:
“You’re gonna have Gunther; I mean, you know, obviously he lost the Intercontinental belt, but that is the sign right there; it’s time to move up a level [and challenge Cody Rhodes]. You know, you had to get that [Intercontinental Championship] off of him, so it puts him in a different situation,” he commented.
The potential return of Lesnar and Gunther’s ascent into title contention add layers of anticipation to Rhodes’ championship journey. As fans await developments in the WWE terrain, the prospect of Lesnar’s comeback to square off against The American Nightmare remains a tantalizing possibility.
