The Undertaker, renowned as a locker room leader during his WWE tenure, reflected on a significant moment from a wrestlers’ court session, revealing its gravity during a recent podcast episode.
Speaking on his Six Feet Under podcast with Mark Calaway, The Phenom recounted a memorable wrestlers’ court incident that unfolded during a WWE tour in Australia. He detailed how a banquet room at a hotel was reserved for the court proceedings, indicating the solemnity of the event.
“We had wrestlers’ court at the hotel. I want to say it was Melina, and maybe somebody else got brought on some kind of charges. So we had a banquet room reserved at the hotel just for wrestlers’ court. I’m talking about, it was sold out,” The Undertaker shared.
The situation, according to The Deadman, became intense, with emotions running high, and tears were shed. He recalled presiding over the court session, with JBL serving as the prosecutor, emphasizing the severity of the circumstances.
“It had taken a really pretty serious turn as far as the defendants were concerned. It was one place back then as a wrestler you did not want to be. You did not want to be brought up on charges,” The Undertaker noted.
Wrestlers’ courts, a unique aspect of WWE’s backstage culture, have been subject to scrutiny over the years. Former wrestlers like CM Punk have criticized the concept, highlighting its darker side in the wrestling industry.
Meanwhile, Sting Reflects on Missed Opportunity for Dream Match Against The Undertaker.
Sting, the iconic wrestler who joined WWE late in his career, expressed his disappointment over never having the chance to face The Undertaker in a highly anticipated dream match.
Despite his desire to deliver a memorable encounter with The Deadman, Sting’s WWE stint was cut short due to an injury sustained during a match with Seth Rollins.
In an interview with CBS Sports, The Icon revealed that he believed a match against The Undertaker could have been a legendary moment in wrestling history.
“I think if it was done right, it could have been a night, for sure, everyone would remember and never forget. They would be talking about it to this day. But it just was not going to happen,” Sting lamented.
Although Sting’s hopes for the dream match were dashed, he remains a celebrated figure in wrestling. His upcoming retirement match at AEW Revolution 2024 will mark the end of an illustrious career, leaving fans to wonder what could have been with The Undertaker.
