Marvel’s Blood Hunt event appears poised to become one of the publisher’s most significant narratives in recent memory, boasting six announced spin-off limited series with more anticipated releases on the horizon. Additionally, ongoing series tie-ins and one-shots are in the pipeline, promising an expansive and immersive experience for fans.
Among the announced tie-ins, four stand out, introducing the threat of vampires into various corners of the Marvel Universe, even infiltrating unexpected characters’ storylines.
First in line is “Black Panther: Blood Hunt,” a three-issue limited series penned by writer Cheryl Lynn Eaton. This installment sees T’Challa himself transformed into a vampire as part of a clandestine mission for Wakanda. The stakes are high as fans eagerly anticipate whether there’s a route for T’Challa’s redemption from this vampiric fate.
Next, “Union Jack the Ripper” emerges as another three-issue limited series tie-in by writer Cavan Scott and artist Kev Walker. Here, the patriotic hero of the United Kingdom takes on the role of a ruthless vampire hunter. Given Union Jack’s history with the Nazi vampire Baron Blood, his involvement in the Blood Hunt narrative is both intriguing and fitting.
The third tie-in introduces “Bloodline,” daughter of Blade, who finds herself in an unlikely alliance with none other than Dracula. In “Dracula: Blood Hunt,” a three-issue limited series penned by Danny Lore with art by Vincenzo Carratù, the duo’s shared interests converge, albeit temporarily, setting the stage for captivating storytelling.
Completing the quartet of announced limited series is “Midnight Sons: Blood Hunt,” marking the reunion of the Midnight Sons under Blade’s leadership. This three-issue limited series, crafted by Bryan Hill with art by Germán Peralta, promises an action-packed narrative as Blade, accompanied by Ghost Riders and other allies, confronts the vampire threat head-on.
“Blood Hunters” offers an anthology limited series featuring Dagger’s quest to rescue Cloak across three issues, anchored by a story from writer Erica Shultz and artist Bernard Chang. This series, commencing with May 8’s “Blood Hunters #1,” also delves into the adventures of Hawkeye and Man-Wolf, providing a diverse and dynamic exploration of the Blood Hunt universe.
Lastly, “Strange Academy: Blood Hunt,” a three-issue limited series by writer Daniel José Older and artist Luigi Zagaria, follows the students of the Strange Academy as they harness the magic of the Darkhold to combat the vampire menace. With each cover unveiling a glimpse into the gripping narratives awaiting readers, anticipation for the event continues to soar.
While the current lineup is impressive, Marvel enthusiasts can expect additional announcements, including two more limited series, six one-shots, and seven ongoing series, ensuring that the Blood Hunt event remains a cornerstone of the Marvel Universe for the foreseeable future.
