The upcoming Met Gala promises to showcase Hollywood’s elite on the red carpet, yet two notable absences will be Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, as reported by TMZ. Despite receiving individual invitations to the prestigious fashion event, both have already declined attendance.
For Swift, logistical constraints hinder her participation, as May 6, the night of the Met Gala, coincides with the commencement of the second leg of her international Eras Tour in Europe.
Although the couple has been frequently seen in public and openly shares their relationship, they have notably never graced a red carpet together. While the Met Gala could have marked a significant debut for them, it appears this milestone will have to wait.
Meanwhile, the Met Gala boasts an array of other A-list stars, with co-chairs including Zendaya, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, and Jennifer Lopez.
As Swift immerses herself in promoting her latest album, released on April 19, “The Tortured Poets Department,” her 11th studio album, features tracks that subtly nod to her NFL star beau. According to a source speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Kelce has been steadfast in his support of Swift during this pivotal moment.
“He knows how much this means to her and thinks she’s extremely talented,” the source revealed.
“Taylor and Travis admire each other’s creative processes and work ethic. They cheer each other on, respect each other’s opinions, and are open and communicative.”
Expressing her enthusiasm for the album’s release, the source added,
“She has put her heart and soul into the music, just like with everything she does, and can’t wait for her fans to listen to it and to share it with them.”
