Tatiana Suarez’s return to the UFC octagon has been highly anticipated by the MMA community, especially after her impressive victory over former champion Jessica Andrade. However, her comeback was briefly delayed due to a knee injury that forced her to withdraw from a scheduled bout against Amanda Lemos
In interviews with the Two Straws podcast and Sportskeeda MMA, Suarez addressed her absence from UFC 300 and hinted at her future plans in the strawweight division.
Tatiana Suarez’s plans for her return
She suggested that the UFC likely has something planned for her return, considering her recent injury hiatus and withdrawal from the Lemos matchup.
Suarez pointed out that a rematch with Andrade or a fight against Marina Rodriguez, who lost to Virna Jandiroba, wouldn’t make sense for her next bout.
Instead, she expressed interest in facing Jandiroba or competing for the title, indicating her readiness to take on top contenders in the division.
Regarding her comeback timeline, Suarez revealed to James Lynch that she aims to return to the octagon in June, possibly during the UFC’s International Fight Week.
She mentioned that she has been cleared to start sparring again and is eager to begin her training camp. Suarez emphasized her willingness to fight for the title or in a number one contender’s bout, demonstrating her ambition to compete at the highest level of the division.
