Indie developer Firenut Games has officially announced that its upcoming project, “Shines Over: The Damned,” will be launching exclusively on the PlayStation 5 later this year.
Promising a dark horror adventure experience, the game sets players in a mysterious and terrifying world devoid of weaponry or companionship, save for their faithful canine companion who serves as their guide through the ominous landscape.
Firenut Games assures players of finely crafted environments, intense exploration sequences, heart-stopping jumpscares, and engaging first-person puzzles and platforming challenges. The game aims to immerse players in a bleak and oppressive atmosphere laden with dread and terror.
Although an exact release date remains undisclosed, “Shines Over: The Damned” is slated for a spring 2024 launch, spanning from April to June. For many, the prospect of safeguarding the protagonist’s loyal dog serves as a compelling incentive to dive into the game’s eerie world.
Switching gears to another horror-themed title, I recently delved into Konami’s surprise release, “The Short Message,” a teaser offering a glimpse into the iconic Silent Hill universe.
“While it may not align with the expectations of die-hard Silent Hill enthusiasts, or fulfill every fan’s wishlist, ‘The Short Message’ makes a noteworthy presence,” I noted, granting it a respectable three out of five stars. “Despite occasional flaws in its delivery and the backdrop of adolescent drama, Anita’s narrative strikes a chord, delivering moments of poignancy and, perhaps most importantly, hopefulness.”
