Writer Steve Orlando’s collaboration with Wanda Maximoff persists, with his ongoing Scarlet Witch title set for a relaunch in June. Partnering with X-Men Red artist Jacopo Camagni, Orlando embarks on a new journey in the Scarlet Witch solo ongoing series, following a 10-issue first series and subsequent limited series featuring Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
Continuing from where the previous series concluded, the new storyline delves into Wanda’s establishment of a magical refuge in upstate New York, known as the ‘Last Door,’ offering unparalleled magical assistance to those in need.
Marvel’s official announcement teases the impending upheaval in Wanda’s tranquil sanctuary: “The Scarlet Witch has carved out a haven for herself in upstate New York, but it’s all about to go up in flames. Wanda’s newfound peace has drawn the wrath of a primal force unlike anything she’s ever faced before, and it won’t stop until it razes Wanda’s world to the ground.”
The clash escalates into an epic confrontation as Wanda and her allies brace themselves to defend all that she cherishes against an unstoppable force set on annihilation. The stakes intensify as chaos converges with destruction, promising a tumultuous journey for Wanda.
Accompanying Orlando, artist Russell Dauterman returns to provide covers for the relaunched Scarlet Witch series, starting with the debut issue, Scarlet Witch #1.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the project, Orlando remarks, “The news is out and I couldn’t be more excited! Scarlet Witch has been a dream job, and getting to return to her once again and continue Wanda’s adventures is something I could never say no to. And Wanda’s going to keep climbing! Here, we’ll be bringing the blockbuster storytelling of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver to the focused, personal journey Wanda began in Darkhold and Scarlet Witch. And standing in her way? Only one of Marvel’s most powerful and climactic entities, bent on destroying everything Wanda stands for.”
