Roman Reigns, known for headlining arenas with over 100,000 fans, surprised many by sharing his experience performing for the smallest crowd of his career.
Despite hailing from wrestling royalty, Reigns had to grind his way up, performing in front of tiny audiences and earning just double-digit figures per match.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he reflected on his journey from humble beginnings to headlining record-breaking events like the recent RAW before WrestleMania 40.
Reigns opened up about his early struggles, recalling a particularly challenging moment when he performed in front of just two people:
“Well, it could have been anywhere. We did it in a parking lot, a used cars parking lot, or it could have been in a fairground. The lightest show I’ve ever done was two people, just two people. It got so bad that I was asking people for requests. Like ‘What do you want to see?’, ‘Do you want me to bodyslam him?’. It’s been bad but we’re in a really, really good place right now.” (2:54-3:24)
Reigns’ journey from such humble beginnings to headlining WrestleMania is a testament to his resilience and determination.
Looking ahead to WrestleMania 40, Reigns is on the cusp of breaking a 31-year-old record. Having already headlined WrestleMania seven times, he’s set to tie Hulk Hogan’s record of eight main events.

Additionally, reports suggest that Reigns could surpass this milestone by headlining the event for the ninth time when he faces Cody Rhodes.
While some may debate the impact of the two-night format on Reigns’ record, it’s noteworthy that this marks the first time since its reintroduction in 2020 that he’s headlined two consecutive nights.
Regardless of any controversies surrounding past main event appearances, Reigns’ impending achievement is poised to solidify his legacy as The Tribal Chief, cementing his status as one of the most dominant forces in WWE history.
