Crow Country, the retro survival horror game developed by SFB Games, the creators of Snipperclips!, has officially received its release date: May 9th. Players can look forward to experiencing this eerie adventure on both Steam and PlayStation 5.
In anticipation of the upcoming launch, SFB Games has unveiled a new trailer showcasing more of Crow Country’s unsettling amusement park environments and its nostalgic PS1-inspired aesthetic.
“We’re thrilled to reveal the release date for Crow Country, and we can’t wait for players to dive into the complete game,” expressed Adam Vian, the creative director. “This project has been a true labor of love, filled with countless secrets and surprises awaiting players when Crow Country finally arrives.”
For those unfamiliar with Crow Country, it’s reminiscent of a blend between Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Final Fantasy 7. Set in 1990, the game immerses players in a survival horror experience featuring intricate puzzles, enigmatic riddles, and charmingly chunky characters reminiscent of Square Enix classics.
The narrative unfolds within the dilapidated Crow Country amusement park, tasking players with assuming the role of detective Mara Forest. Your mission? To unravel the truth behind the disappearance of the park’s elusive owner. Picture the eerie ambiance of Alan Wake 2’s coffee park section, but with an added splash of vibrant colors.
For those intrigued by the concept, a playable demo of Crow Country was released alongside the game’s announcement last October, offering a taste of the spine-chilling adventure that awaits.
Having personally experienced the demo, I was left eager for more. With the full game’s release just around the corner, priced at $19.99 (UK pricing to be announced), players can soon immerse themselves in the mysteries of Crow Country.
