Park Jun-Hyung, a member of the iconic group g.o.d, recently shared his candid views on the topic of idol dating during a video uploaded on Psick University’s YouTube channel titled ‘Ask g.o.d Park Jun-Hyung what he should do at 32.’
In the video, Park Jun-Hyung was shown a snippet from a press conference back in 2001 where he faced the possibility of expulsion due to violating a no-dating clause. Reflecting on his past self’s words, he chuckled, “Isn’t there that famous meme about representing 32-year-olds? Sorry about that.”
He amusingly remarked on how every New Year, he still receives messages about that incident.
Park Jun-Hyung’s Bold Stand Sparks Debate on Idol Dating Rules and Human Rights in the Entertainment World
Addressing the controversy, Park Jun-Hyung highlighted his frustration, stating, “If you look closely, you can see the anger in my eyes. Growing up in the United States, forming friendships with the opposite sex is entirely natural, whether in the U.S. or Korea, especially in one’s 30s.”
He boldly declared, “But, I had a girlfriend. Should that really warrant getting kicked out of the group?”
Expressing incredulity, he questioned, “Being ousted just for having a girlfriend? That’s absurdly shocking.” When asked about the appropriate age for idols to start dating, Park Jun-Hyung straightforwardly responded, “Any time.”
Reiterating his stance, he passionately asserted, “Dating is a fundamental aspect of being human, isn’t it? It’s only natural.” Park Jun-Hyung’s words shed light on the complexities of idol life and the need for a more realistic approach to relationships in the industry.
