Destiny 2 enthusiasts can now engage in intergalactic battles adorned in armor reminiscent of Commander Shepard and key members of the Normandy’s crew from the acclaimed Mass Effect series. This latest cosmetic collaboration introduces three sets of armor ornaments, along with additional items such as a ghost shell, spear, ship, emote, and finisher, all drawing inspiration from BioWare’s iconic games.
To acquire these striking cosmetics, players can head to the Eververse shop, where the armor sets are available for purchase using Silver, Destiny 2’s premium in-game currency. Each set of armor ornaments corresponds to one of the character classes and is priced at 2,000 Silver, equivalent to approximately $20 USD.
The collaboration showcases armor ornament sets modeled after distinct Mass Effect characters. Titans can don armor reminiscent of Shepard’s renowned N7 gear, while Hunters can emulate the appearance of Garrus Vakarian, and Warlocks can embody the style of Liara T’soni.
In addition to the premium armor ornaments, players can acquire the Flux Dance emote, capturing Shepard’s memorable dancing from the Flux club on the Citadel, and the Omni Strike finisher, mirroring the melee attack featured in Mass Effect 3. The emote is priced at 1,200 Silver (approximately $12), while the finisher costs 1,000 Silver (around $10).
However, for those who prefer not to spend premium currency, there are still opportunities to obtain Mass Effect-themed items within Destiny 2. While the armor ornaments require Silver, the Sparrow, Ghost shell, and ship are offered free of charge.
The Alliance Scout Frigate ship draws inspiration from Commander Shepard’s Normandy SR-2 in Mass Effect 2, while the Alliance Drop Ship Sparrow pays homage to the beloved Mako ground vehicle from Mass Effect 1. Completing the ensemble is the Enhanced Defense Shell, resembling the robotic head of EDI from Mass Effect 3.
Furthermore, Bungie is commemorating the Lunar New Year by gifting all players 800 Bright Dust, the earnable Eververse currency, accessible through the Eververse store. Both the free Mass Effect items and the Bright Dust offer can be found prominently displayed on the Eververse store’s home page.
For fans of both Destiny 2 and the Mass Effect series, this collaboration offers an exciting opportunity to blend the worlds of science fiction and adventure in a thrilling gaming experience.
