Activision is taking its time to unveil Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode, but for those eagerly awaiting details, there’s fresh information from developer Treyarch. Recently, Treyarch revealed the Terminus map, one of the two maps set to launch with the game, alongside Liberty Falls, a West Virginian town.
Terminus Island is billed as one of the largest round-based Zombies maps ever created, highlighting its expansive and intricate design.
The setting for Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode is the early 1990s, occurring five years after the events of Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies. Terminus Island features a prison that will be familiar to fans of the Requiem storyline.
Players begin their adventure inside the prison before venturing out to explore the island’s tropical surroundings. This transition from a confined space to a more open environment promises a diverse and engaging gameplay experience.
The map includes several key locations such as a secret research facility dedicated to “weird science” and various smaller islands. These areas will be integral to the main quest, offering players a range of scripted events. Expect to encounter zombies bursting out of containment units, ongoing struggles with undead threats by prison guards, and other dynamic interactions that bring the map to life.
A notable addition to the gameplay is the new Tentacle Trap, which players can place above doorways to capture zombies as they approach. Furthermore, there is a mysterious element suggested by the trailer, hinting at a significant threat players might encounter while navigating the water between islands using Tactical Rafts.
As anticipation builds, more details, including gameplay footage scheduled for August 28th, will be revealed ahead of the game’s release on October 25th. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and select tiers of Game Pass, ensuring a broad audience can experience its latest features.
