Neil Newbon, known for his role in Baldur’s Gate 3, recently expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with Bethesda in a new video with BAFTA. Newbon, who has a deep appreciation for the Fallout series, highlighted his desire to work with various prominent game developers, including Santa Monica, Insomniac, and Naughty Dog. His love for Bethesda’s work, particularly the Fallout franchise, stands out as a significant professional aspiration.
Earlier this year, Newbon revealed that he would be part of the voice cast for Fallout London, a major mod for Fallout 4. This ambitious project aims to transform the classic Fallout experience by relocating its setting to a post-apocalyptic London, blending British historical and cultural elements with the series’ trademark nuclear dystopia. Newbon’s involvement reflects his enthusiasm for diverse and creative projects in the gaming world.
Fallout London, developed by Team Folon, is described as a DLC-sized experiment that introduces a variety of new characters and themes, including British aristocrats and revolutionary cults. The mod promises to offer a unique twist on the Fallout universe, with notable voice actors such as Anna Demetriou and former British Speaker of the House John Bercow contributing to the project.
Despite several delays, Team Folon is nearing the completion of the mod, with plans for a release later in the summer. The developers have humorously noted that if the launch doesn’t go well, they might “just go to sleep,” reflecting their commitment to delivering a high-quality product despite the challenges.
While Bethesda has no immediate plans for Fallout 5 and is focusing on updates for Fallout 76, Newbon has also expressed a desire to reprise his role as Astarion from Baldur’s Gate 3. He remains open to various opportunities to revisit the character, whether through live-action, new games, or even unconventional media.
