Former WWE Divas Champion Natalya recently delved into the intricacies of the unfolding storyline involving wrestling icons The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes, all vying for the coveted main event spot at WrestleMania 40.
At the WrestleMania Kick-Off Press Event in Las Vegas, Cody Rhodes strategically reclaimed his main event position from Dwayne Johnson, opting to face Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
However, the situation took an unexpected turn when The Brahma Bull slapped Cody Rhodes in response to a taunt directed at The Tribal Chief. Even Triple H officially announced the WrestleMania 40 main event match, momentarily sidelining the legendary 51-year-old.
Natalya, offering her insights on the Gorilla Position podcast, shed light on the factors that led to WWE crafting a high-stakes drama involving Reigns, Rhodes, and Johnson.
Natalya emphasized Cody’s hard work and deserving position, noting the pivotal moment when fan outcries for Cody reshaped the narrative, transforming him into the most prominent babyface in the company.
“To me, Cody has been working hard for it, and he’s deserved it, so I think there was this moment where it was, like, it’s going to be like I said in WWE, we only sometimes as talent, we only have so much power when it was decided okay, it’s going to be Rock vs. Roman when the fans spoke up and they showed such an outcry for Cody, I think it made it really exciting, and honestly, it made Cody into the biggest babyface in the company,” she shared.
Regarding The Rock’s recent full heel turn in WWE, Natalya expressed her admiration for this version, highlighting the unpredictability and excitement it injects into the storyline.
She revealed that witnessing The Rock pivot seamlessly and explore new dimensions has made this rendition her favorite.
“What we are seeing with The Rock right now—it’s The Rock to me—is just that I want to watch and see what happens. I want to see every single thing that happens, and that’s the power of The Rock—that he can pivot on the drop of a dime and make this so exciting, and he has. Now with his alliance with Roman, him talking about their family and what this means, and it’s just this is a Rock that we have never seen before, and I think this is my favorite version of The Rock,” she added.
As Roman Reigns and The Rock gear up for this week’s SmackDown, fans anticipate further developments in The Bloodline’s storyline leading up to WWE WrestleMania 40.
Natalya’s insightful perspective adds depth to the ongoing drama, leaving fans eager for the unfolding chapters of this enthralling narrative.
